Dear John, & Dear Jane,
Every Veteran or Active Duty Soldier I have met always exudes the energy of pride, honor and love for our country. I always try to thank our service men and woman for volunteering to keep our families safe. Regardless of all of the reasons for enlisting, I believe volunteering for service in this ever-changing chaotic World is one of the most noble and selfless life choices. Besides having many perks, benefits and incentives, I believe this to be the scariest unknown life choices of all.
I have heard many stories from individuals with life long careers in the military. They were so happy to raise their families in this environment either here or moving around abroad having many beautiful experiences.
I have also heard scary life changing stories shared with injuries that change lives and families forever... physically, emotionally and mentally for everyone. Missing limbs, life changing head injuries and PTSD just to name a few. The list gets quite long!
All of these brave souls, beautiful stories and horrific stories of suffering, we Thank You and continue to pray for your safety and well-being.
Today, I ask you to join us by sharing your written letter to a young loved one thinking about enlisting into the military. This letter should share all of your wisdom, knowledge and experiences to help them make the best decision for themselves.
We can always share our wisdom with others and trust that after sharing our experiences and opinions that the information hopefully has a positive impact on their final decisions.
Information is shared and their life decisions is still theirs to make. I hope your letters help others to make the right life choices for their own path.
Please include as much detail as possible to include opinions.
How old were you when you enlisted?
Which Branch did you choose?
Was it your choice to enlist? Why? Or what enticed you?
How many years in the service?
Would you enlist again if you could do it all over again?
Would you choose a different branch or the same one? Why?
What were your expectations and were they met?
Highlights, benefits, gifts, lessons and all positive things gained from experience in the service?
Any regrets or disappointments?
Did you feel appreciated serving?
If you could change anything in the military that would be a benefit for all, what would that be?
In everyone’s life stories there are polarities and dualities such as; highs and lows, positive and negatives, good and evil. Please share all wisdom, experience and opinions to share your life experiences with your full truths.
Also know, it is your choice if you choose to use your name, part of your name or sign your letter anonymously.
Much Love and Gratitude for our Brave Soul Soldiers
