Love Share and Enjoy

This is a safe place to share your struggles with addiction. Bringing clarity and understanding to those of us navigating a loved one with addictions also. Help teach us how to love and support you in a healthier way. We never want to abandon anyone. Some of us need to detach and separate when we feel we are no longer helping. We may fear we are contributing in a harmful way to your habit. Please share your daily struggles and teach us how to love and support you in the healthiest way for all of us involved.

My prayer is for this letter to your addiction to help all loved ones, understanding your heart and everyday struggles. Hopefully, with understanding brings compassion without separation.

I also pray that thru introspection and sharing that healing occurs for you in some way. Are there any emotional wounds you are numbing and have not healed? Are you comfortable with your feelings?  What are your triggers that push you to pick up your habit?  Do you have healthy replacements for your habit?  Do you have a loving and supportive group to assist you?  What helps?  What hinders you?

What would you share in your letter to your addiction?

This one pulls hard on my heart strings. I have experienced this one over and over again throughout my life. We have lost countless friends in our small town due to overdose and Fentanyl. We have watched our peers continuously struggle with addictions and watch their lives and bodies deteriorate. Many of us as adults are still trying to drink as we did as teens. Our bodies remind us that we cannot. Many of us have relationships with loved ones that never grew out of their adolescent habits. 

I believe our loved ones with addictions in our lives do not understand the anxiety, frustration, helplessness, hopelessness, sadness and hurt they create in our hearts, mind and bodies...Our time with them can be 90% enjoyable and positive, but the 10% part of addiction and behavior overshadows the good. It taints everything! If we allow it to.

We stay because we love them. Accepting apology after apology. Praying for change and help frequently. How should we love them with healthy boundaries for our own sanity?

My heart prays that anyone struggling with addiction will read this and reflect on their affects on their own life and loved ones. How have you affected them with your addiction? Hopefully, this starts the journey of healing themselves and relationships.

This is not to shame anyone. I pray this creates introspection and positive change for us all.

What is your story and experience of a loved one with addiction?

This is Dedicated to all of our friends that have passed away from addiction. You will all be remembered lovingly in our hearts forever!

For the ones of us that have lost a loved one in such a tragic way. Many of us carry shame and blame for not doing or saying more to prevent this. How could we have not seen clues or signs for this coming? Could we have done something to prevent this in some small way. Wondering if there were no signs, the guilt that haunts us for years, asking ourselves what had we missed? This tragedy changes us forever! Praying for signs and stronger intuition to navigate for our loved ones moving forward. Always wanting to check in to make sure everyone in our lives are doing well. We want to prevent this from ever happening again to anyone. In hopes that no one ever feels alone, and never feels that leaving is the only solution.

Share with your heart, your story! In hopes that this will help prevent choosing to exit while suffering. 

These loving letters are for the ones that may be struggling in contemplation or the loved ones left behind broken. We are not alone. If you have lost a loved one to suicide. Maybe your letter to your loved one will help keep someone here with us. Also, to heal your heart for your lost one.

Many of us have lost loved ones to suicide and are still whipping ourselves over what we could have seen or done differently. How could we have prevented, helped or even known?

I believe each individual story will help heal the ones that were left behind to understand...Why?

My heart feels this is a great way to heal and hopefully prevent another suicide.

How many of us walk by someone asking for money and ignore them.  How many of us avoid eye contact and even refuse to share a smile or just a simple friendly... Hello?

Why do we do this? Ignoring them as if they do not matter or thinking they are beneath us without even learning about their hearts or their story?

There are so many reasons for anyone to become homeless. They say we are all just a few missing paychecks away from losing everything.

I see many people holdings signs asking for money that shares with us that they are Veterans. How can our people that sacrificed their lives for our freedom not receive the help they need? How can we support and do more for them?

How can we as a community help our brothers and sisters we have not met yet?

If you have ever been homeless, please share your story with us.

I pray that this brings compassion and action for loving our neighbors better than we have been.

I believe most of us would be shocked to hear how someone ends up in a Maximum Security Prison. What is their story? Can we relate with these individuals? Are they like us? Or we anything like them?

I had the honor of visiting a Men’s Maximum Security Prison a couple of times a few years ago in Maryland. We were able to spend the day gathering in small groups hearing the stories from these men of what their lives looked like on the outside before incarceration. Their action of crimes they were with charged with or sentenced for, their regrets, their wishes of going back and changing the outcome, their reason of committing a crime out of need or survival for self and family or just swearing they had the wrong person and begging for any assistance to find them a way to get out of their nightmare. Their stories went in many different directions with many different scenarios. My heart bled for each of these men as they shared each detail.

Listening to these men share their stories, I felt humbled and connected to them at the same time. Most of their stories I could relate to. Other stories were great reminders of how wonderful my life had been compared to someone who struggled deeply their whole life for essential needs that keep us alive. At times, I struggled with feeling guilty of privilege, stability, housing, food always available, comfort and security in comparison.

Whether we can relate or experience a completely different life thru someone else’s experience. Just witnessing without judgement when someone makes a very large decision that cannot be undone. I found myself feeling so much love, compassion, understanding and empathy towards all of the men I met. These men were willing to share their stories in hopes of preventing other young men from heading down the same path and ending up caged, reflecting for a very long time or the rest of their lives on a bad decision.  Many of them wished to go back and live their 30 seconds of the wrong decision over again. Swearing they would do it better this time. So many regrets!

My hope is that these men in prison can share their stories and this promotes a huge positive ripple effect for many. Such as healing, preventing crime, forgiveness, redemption, purpose, help with changing someone’s path and outcome, but mostly peace.

I send much love and gratitude for sharing your shadows and stories with us from the inside, out. What better purpose, but to share your wounds for others to learn, grow and understand from.

This sharing is just one aspect and perspective of something much larger. This is not disregarding any victims or families that have experienced crime, great loss or suffering at the hands of another.

I believe at some point in our lives we have all experienced prejudice in some degree. I also believe everyone has judged others also. Weighing and measuring others to ourselves. Possibly comparing to feed our own egos to feel more superior to someone else. This is a false and damaging comparison to ourselves and others, regardless of status, financials, gender, sexual preferences, Religion, race, age, the car you drive or how attractive you think you may be.

What is your experience and story with prejudice? Whether they were your old beliefs and actions towards another or you were on the receiving end of this very shallow disrespect.

Prejudice means to PRE-JUDGE. Prejudice works both ways and is always a bad substitute for knowledge of any individual person.

My prayer for a letter to prejudice is to change our hearts and behaviors. I believe that experiencing scars of lovely people from this superficial practice will help us all do better in this World concerning others.  

I pray, we all begin to judge a person by their character, actions and their heart.

Forgiveness is Divine.  What does this mean? I believe FOREGIVENESS is the healthiest gift we can give to ourselves. Forgiving others is kind, but mostly healthy for us because we no longer carry any discord towards another in our mind, body and spirit. 

We do not need to forgive anyone in person. We can do it from afar.

Cancer....What can any of us say about this? For the ones of us that have experienced this thru a loved one, it is heart wrenching!  The fear, the pain, the uncertainty...

My prayer is for this to invoke many to find their life's purpose and connect to the voice calling them.

Some believe we are a freak accident thru the Great Bang explained Scientifically.

Others pray to the God of this World feeding ego, power, money and materialism.

Many were confused, lost and turned off thru their Religious upbringing and programing.

Some have held tight to their Faith and Relationship to their God and Religion either born into or chosen.

This is such a diverse, beautiful World filled with many different backgrounds, Religious beliefs, Faiths and understandings.

There is so much division in this World. This seems to be something that many of us may not understand? This life is already hard.  I cannot imagine how much harder it would be if I believed I was born in the wrong body? Many of us already struggle with propaganda imposed body images. I do not believe we should judge any adult for making choices for themselves.

How can everyone learn to love the body God gave them?

How can we all learn to stop judging others for their own life choices?

How can we all evolve into loving and accepting Humans?

Not everyone believes in Reincarnation. This is ok! For the ones of us that do, we have learned profound things about ourselves. Reasons for so many things that make us who we are right now! Many wounds, traumas and fears seem to be carried over into this life if we did not heal them and learn from them then. Same goes for lessons not learned, we will repeat them till we master them.
